Herring market Dances

Experience the traditional Finnish dances in an unique atmosphere, right by the sea side at the Market Square.

Helsinki Baltic Herring Market is one of the oldest traditional festivities in the city; it has been held since 1743. The Market is a popular festival for all that combines modern food culture with archipelago traditions. This year on Thursday, there will be held a traditional Finnish dance “lavatanssit” at a glass wall pavilion right by the sea at The Helsinki Market Square.

Dance along to evergreen classics from 6pm til 10pm. The music will be provided by nautical romantics more than suitable for the unique occasion: fisherman, poet and DJ Harri Hertell and the rarely touring dance band Pyöriäiset formed by  a bunch of the top musicians in Finland.
